Upgrading with/without miles
 

Anyone have a suggestion for upgrading a flight (without taking a seat away from a deserving elite member, of course!) on USAirways? Unfortunately I only have enough miles for one upgrade, but my husband and I will be traveling together for our 5th Anniversary...BWI to MSY. I was hoping that someone would have an idea if I can "buy" an upgrade for him since he doesn't have enough miles. Sorry if this has been discussed at length before, but I've been searching through hundreds of threads and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for your help!
