nov-4-1999: The PIP express LAX-HNL on UA-3-class-aircraft, the upstairs business-class was exclusively filled with FlyerTalkers, and Gisela and I were part of that pre-party-flight. As this LAX-HNL segment was 'only' part of the (upgraded from paid business to first with miles) Europe-Hawaii trip, we volunteered months before the flight to be downgraded to business!
(All trip and seat-bookings for that unforgettable PIP-flight were booked by all FlyerTalkers 330 days in advance - PremEx informed and organized this in perfection). PIP = 'Party in Paradise' ! [This message has been edited by Rudi (edited 07-20-2001).] |
Yep, last week - SEA-SFO-PHX - was upgraded and declined. The CSR looked at me and said, "you want to be downgraded?!" I said, as long as I can have a row to myself, that's even better than first! For me, it's the space that I crave! No sense in being squished into first with every seat taken while Y is pretty much wide open (IMHO).
