Which hotel in Key West?

I will be spending 1 night in Key West. Any hotel suggestions?

Marquesa Hotel is probably as good as it gets! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

DO NOT stay at The Blue Parrot, I believe Hilton is nice but probably expensive, the Southernmost is not bad for the money.

If you want a resort, I suggest you stay at the Casa Marina. They have the nicest grounds and facilities, but are not close to the action on Duval Street.

If you want close to Duval Street, but still want a nice full-service hotel; I suggest the Pier House.

You won't go wrong with either property. If you want small and cute, there are some good inns/small hotels around town. These include Key Lime Inn, Island City House, Marquessa Hotel, L'habitation, and the Cocoplum Inn.

We enjoy the Hyatt, about one block from Duval Street and the pier. The Hyatt features a restaurant with a sunset-view deck.

Quite some time ago (8 years) we stayed at a place called The Reach - quite nice, on the water, and it had a small beach.

IMO, when I stay on Key West, I never feel I'm getting away/relaxing like I want to.

I stay on Sugarloaf Key which is only a 15 minute drive from Key West.

I can have the party Key West experience or I can stay in my room on Sugarloaf Key and just listen to the waves w/no noise.

See a similar thread I started:

FT'er greggwiggins is, IMHO, an outstanding expert on Key West. He gave me more tips through email than you can see in the thread above. You may want to email him. He recommended to me a stay at the Conch House Historic B&B. It seemed like a great B&B, as B&B's go. It was my first B&B experience, and I decided I don't like B&B's as a class of accommodations, but if you do like them, then the Conch House is great.

Among larger hotels, the Hyatt, Wyndham, and Hilton offer central locations with a beach resort sort of atmosphere. The Crowne Plaza La Concha has a great location, but the hotel itself is mediocre, and no beach access. The Sheraton Suites is across the street from Smathers Beach, but kind of far from town.

Gosh, Pynchonesque, I'm gonna blush.

Thanx.
