Maid refused some tips!

The first day I left a $1 gold coin on the desk, and it was gone.
The next two days I left $1 bills, and they were still there on my return to the room.
The last day I left another gold coin and checked out.

Was there a message there for me or were there different maids?

Hi you are lucky Where do you leave the gold coin? Normally if the gold coin is accepted, at least in Mexico, "extra" services are expected and if taken usually provided

Ok, I am curious. Where does one obtain $1 gold coins? At $269+ per tr oz they must be very tiny.

MisterNice - They are referring to the Sacagawea US$1.00 coin released last year. It is worth(?) one US dollar. It is gold in color.

You should be able to get at any bank. Were very popular last year and hard to get, don't know about this year, I havn't tried.

If it was a "real" gold coin, the maid might have been waiting in the bed for ROADRUNNER to return http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

LOL!

You guys have a twist on everything!

LOL!

I take it all of you are VERY experienced travelers!

LOL!

But I did save some money!

LOL!

Gold coins are given for exceptional service in the dining room and as a bribe for good service in the hotel room, if needed, since they are believed to be very verry verrry lucky!
