A night at BOS

I will arrive in Boston a little bit after midnight and will take another flight at 5:45. Should I just sit at the airport or stay at a hotel? If it takes too long to travel to the hotel and come back, I will probably just sit at the airport. Is it allowed? Thanks.

The airport Hilton is now connected to most of the terminals with moving walkways. It opened within the last year, so it's still brand new. The airport Hyatt requires a 5 minute shuttle bus ride, although it is still on the airport grounds, with some nice harbor views. At the times you are travelling you should not run into any traffic, so you could also stay at a variety of nice downtown hotels (although I'm not sure its worth it, if you won't be able to enjoy their facilities). Closest to the airport are probably the Seaport Hotel, Boston Harbor Hotel, Meridien, Wyndham Boston, Marriott Long Wharf and Custom House timeshare, Parker House, Bostonian, XV Beacon, Holiday Inn Government Center - all less than 15 minutes to the airport at those hours. I would not recommend that you try to sleep in the terminal - absent a snow storm, it is not looked on favorably.

I've seen people sleeping in the airport in BOS however, be aware that most of the concourses (from security to the gates) are closed after the last flight of the evening. That means you'd have to find chairs in the one of the main terminals-maybe more noisy due to cleaning. I agree, the Airport Hilton is easiest as you won't have to wait for shuttles or taxis. (Terminal A has the most secluded seats if you have to take that route.)

If you stay at the airport, there is the water shuttle you can take into town, which leaves you reasonably close to Quincy Market and the North End.

The airport Hitlon is the easy answer here. Right in the middle of all the terminals, and now connected by walkways.

There is an airport hyatt, which is nicer, but further away -- not walking disatnce/connected, and for a few hours sleep, I don't think the distance is worth it, but you might want Hyatt points instead of Hilton?

Do the airport Hiltons typically have short stay rates? The BOS Hilton price seems over $200 by my spot checks...rather stiff for 4-5 hours.

No, there is an off airport Ramada a couple of miles away that would probably be much cheaper.
