We wound up at CIUDAD which is an EXCELLENT new wave cuban restaurant (that's the only way I can explain it) ...amazing food and friendly hop service.

Yep, Jones is not for pre-theatre. I'd recommend going there at 8:30 or so. But I'll have to try Ciudad. It sounds great.

Just to close the loop - we did go to Laurel and had an AMAZING dinner - gnocchi, chicken,VENISON steak, rich and beautiful desserts and wonderful service. It was worth the trip!! Not how we eat all the time thank goodness or we'd be too big to fit in the door - but a wonderful splurge . Thanks to SanDiego1K and and rfrost for the recommendation!!
