Originally posted by stimpy: Jones in Hollywood isn't too far from the Pantages. It's an excellent Italian-type place with reasonable prices. Reservations are a must and it works best if you have your concierge make the reservation for you. We did this from the W LA and the conceirge arranged for a free bottle of wine for us. we learned on our arrival when we asked the concierge to call that JONES doesn't take reservations for earlier than 7 PM - I am guesssing that they don;t particularly want the pre theater crowd. We wound up at CIUDAD which is an EXCELLENT new wave cuban restaurant (that's the only way I can explain it) ...amazing food and friendly hop service. |
Yep, Jones is not for pre-theatre. I'd recommend going there at 8:30 or so. But I'll have to try Ciudad. It sounds great.

Thanks for the follow-up, letting us know you enjoyed the restaurant. And I hope that your friend's play was received well at the Rep!
