Almost got 6hrs-delayed flight
 

I was to fly on UA 1749 yesterday, scheduled to leave ORD at 5:49pm and arrive SJC at 8:58.
It was a thick-foggy day in Chicago downtown. I worried a little (yes only a little) about flight condition and decided to go to ORD earlier instead of spending some time for a little more sightseeing around.
When checking in at ORD at about 1pm I was recommended to fly on earlier flight because it was likely the weather condition goes worse. I checked in on UA 1177, which was the only earlier direct flight scheduled lv. ORD 3:45pm ar. SJC 6:18pm.
While waiting for the boarding time, though, the weather was getting better. The departure was actually a few minutes EARLIER than scheduled! It also arrived at SJC almost on time. I wondered if it was worth giving up an aisle seat.

...but IT DID WORTH!

The weather must have become worse. The flight I originally booked on arrived at SJC surprising 6 hours late!!

I'm so glad I stood on the safer side.
