San Francisco
Hi,
I hope I have the right forum, I'm hoping somebody can recommend any good restaurants for breakfast in the Marina area, or any San Francisco district. Just a good old-fashioned hearty breakfast! Thanks! You can use my email at profile!! |
I love the breakfasts at Town's End. It's not in the Marina, but is near a marina - South Beach. It's at 2 Townsend, not far from the new ball park. I think they only have breakfast Monday through Friday, but you may want to double check. They bake their own wonderful breads, muffins and scones. Breakfast menu offers a variety of fruit-topped waffles, pancakes and omelettes.

In the Marina, Home Plate on Lombard is good,
as is Judy's on Chestnut St. In Cow Hollow, just up a the hill a little, Doige's isn't bad. |
Another couple to throw into the mix:
- Ella's on Presidio and California. A local favorite, they do a very nice job. - Nob Hill Grill on Hyde and Pine, across from St. Francis Hospital. A very ordinary looking coffee shop run by a delightful Pakistani guy (Mohan, but most people call him "Mo"). You can get bacon and eggs or really good chicken tikka. I agree with both Doidge's on Union Street and especially Town's End on the Embarcadero as being good breakfast places. Warning: waits for all these places can be long on the weekend. |
For a good old fashioned hearty breakfast in the Marina-Mel's Diner on Lombard, near Fillmore is a good option and a bit of Northern California lore.

Near Union square is famous Sear's Fine Foods, open 6:30AM - 2:30PM, their pancakes are fabulous. Read Catman's review here at www.flyersplaces.com</A>

Mel's Diner is good. But, if you happen to be in South Market Area and you like stop by and smell some flowers, why not go to the Breakfast restaurent right in Flower Market on 6th St and Bryrant St?? I like to go there for Breakfast on weekend, and see all the people going in and out for all kinds of flowers - esp roses and orchids.

Thanks again everybody!!!!!
