Flirting takes flight

Geilenfeldt thinks an increase in airborne ardor has something to do with the higher percentage of women traveling on business. First-class cabins on weekdays used to be male strongholds.

Passengers riding up front have the feeling "that you're in an elite club," Huff says. And the idea that your seatmate is a person of substance can be a turn-on.

"It's not bad to fantasize, and it's not bad to flirt," she adds. "You just have to know your boundaries and your own morals. So that you don't do anything to damage your relationship."

The majority of frequent travelers probably play by those rules, and many vow that they never let lust come in for a landing.

Road Warrior Carl White of Alexandria, Va., maintains that the last thing he's thinking of is his libido when faced with a layover.

"If my plane is delayed or canceled," he says, "I am too busy trying to find a flight or a place to stay for the evening."

I thought that this was an excellent article! Even though I like the article, I don't think it is one to share with your spouse. Even if you have a fantastic relationship, there's no need to cast doubt. Just my $.02

In a related story...
I met my girlfriend on 11/1/2000 on AA flt. 351 PHL-DFW, and we were both in First Class. She was from PHL and I was from PHL and we were both going to DFW on business. Talk about a small world, we are still together and flirted minimally on the plane!

i do get sick of it, but let's be honest here; it's at least more tolerable in First, and it is free manna for the ego.

nevertheless, i have only once had to firmly tell a guy to stop. i just feel a bit more "captive" on the plane; it's not like a train where you can move to some other part of it.

And sometimes the airline is not responsible; the National Law Journal reports that on February 27 a federal court in Illinois held that Northwest Airlines was not liable for the actions of its flight attendant, who was accused of "smacking, dumping water on, kissing, and placing 'FRAGILE' stickers on a passenger in an attempt to gain his amorous attentions."

Anyone else flirt much on board? Haven't really done this myself but it's amusing to hear of some poor sucker being shot down and nice to hear of couples who first met 7 miles high.

I'm still recovering from the fact that the OP had over 47,000 posts before he/she was suspended!

The great majority are in Newsstand, where he was especially active a few years back. Check out its official two-liner description. There are a few other posters with over 10K posts, but he's #1 in post count by a wide margin.

Flings, fantasy and flirting on holiday

...Forty-three per cent of men but just 14 per cent of women admitted they flirted with flight attendants....

I am yet to see a pretty young woman in J, so the article (link doesn't work) probably doesn't apply to the up front cabin. Most young people are flying way in the back, so unless I want to venture into cougar country, it's not applicable.

I was on a flight Madrid to Cuba and i was seated with my mom, brother, me and her boyfriend.. My mom wanted to have a seat where there is a bulkhead for that the baby could sleep.. Well a girl (17 year old) really nice and cute and funny that sat right next to me.. We had a very.. but very good conversations with lots of flirting and smiles and having fun like 2 teenagers.. My mom wanted to sit back next to me because she sat next to strangers and wanted to be with the family.. The girl said i dont really want to move, and that im ok here.. i begged my mom to not sit beside me.. she agreed :D Well you know what happend next right... ;) She was on the same cruise boat as me.. i was just 14 year old.. but hey i was really mature at that time and called me Don Juan.. but they prefer Casanova  When we landed and headed to the cruise.. i was soo ill that you cant imagine.. we almost needed a helicopter to land on the boat to take me to Jamaica for to operate me  And i never could have met here since the flight :( I regret it so much that i was ill...
