Colorado Springs or bust!
We've finally settled on Colorado Springs as a place to go with our expiring Delta tix.
Does anyone have any suggestions for activities or dining? |
Maybe you could get an invitation to the House of Miles. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Good choice. For dining I recommend the Craftwood Inn in Manitou Springs, about a 10 minute drive from COS. In fact, Manitou Springs is really a neat little town - lots of interesting shops, galleries, and cafes.
The main tourist attractions are Pikes Peak, the Air Force Academy, and the Garden of the Gods. It depends on your interests. Cripple Creek and Victor are a couple of old western towns that have been restored and now have a bunch of small casinos. Totally different experience from anything in Nevada. It's about a 90 minute drive from COS. Interesting, even if you don't gamble. You can continue south to the Royal Gorge and circle back to COS. At the very least it's a gorgeous drive. |
I give up. What is the House of Miles and how would you get an invitation to go there?

The train ride up Pike's Peak is breathtaking... as well as the view from the top.
I would also recommend the Olympics Training facility. We had a very enjoyable time... and got to meet several Olympians when we were there a couple of years ago. William |

and (not far from the Broadmoor, in walking distance) the hall of fame for ice-skaters.
play tennis at the Broadmoor with one of my former tennis doubles partners (in one tournament only): Dennis Ralston, who runs the tennis center/camp there. |
I went to houseofmiles.com. I still can't figure out what it is other than a big construction project.

The house of miles is the home of Randy and flyertalk.
