Recommendations on the Amalfi Coast

I am heading over to southern Italy towards the end of April and was wondering whether anyone could recommend any nice places to stay on the Amalfi coast. We plan to be there for about two weeks and plan to spend a few days each in Sorrento, Capri, Positano and Ravello. Any other advice would be welcome and appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I see that no one answered this post. The Amalfi coast keeps coming up as a place to see. Will be spending 6 days in Italy starting out in Rome. What would you recommend as the best way to split 6 days, preferably going south.

Sicily!!! Sicily is wonderful if you like nice accomodations with a rustic, peasant element to your trips.

You can fly to either Catania or Palermo. Catania is not far from the bridge connecting the peninsula with the island. Catania is not far from Mount Etna and the famous resort of Taormina.

If you are on a budget, you can fly into Catania from Rome and visit Giardinia Naxos, which is a beautiful seaside resort right next to the much more expensive mountain resort of Taormina.

Palermo is a wonderful, interesting city with Italian, Arab and other influences.

The countryside is very interesting, desolate, a bit like Southern California in climate and flora.

Food is excellent, very fresh. Prices are very reasonable.
There are tremendous architectural and archaelogical things to see and explore in Sicily and the people are extremely friendly, just as nice as can be.

Palermo is supposedly slightly more dicey but we did not have a single problem (although we were careful about what areas to walk around in at night.)

Sicily!!

Go and spend the days in Sorrento. Try and stay at the Hotel President. you'll find the no in the Michelin for Italy. You will need a car. The view at the President is to die for. It is a feature of the Hotel. From there, you can see all the places mentioned above..at leisure. Sicily is beautiful, but as you ask about this part of the world, that is my best shot.
