Getting local currency at Heathrow?

Is there ATM machine at Heathrow airport? Where is it? If there is none, is it better to get local currency in the US prior to leaving?

There are a number of currency exchange booths at LHR. I recall seeing one ATM, right after clearing customs.

Welsome to the board from another fairly newbie. There are ATM's in the airport - we arrived in Terminal 3 and used one right after clearing customs. We just asked one of the airport employees and he pointed us right to it. ATM's are called Cash Points in Britain. We never had a problem finding a convenient one - and most took PLUS and CIRRUS. Best exchange rate too. We never take much US money - always get the cash we need on the street at an ATM.
