Roundtrip on Several airlines - which program?
 

I have a short business trip coming up on which I am flying 3 different airlines: USAir, Lufthansa, and Sabena. The flight is - EWN-CLT-FRK-DUS-BRU-JFK

I have two questions:

1. What is Sabena like? I've never flown it before.

2. What's the best way to earn miles for this flight? Most of my miles are in AAdvantage but I'm also a member of Dividend Miles, Mileage Plus, and (as of this morning) Qualifyler.

I have never been on a SN flight so I cant tell you much about that but here are my other tips. Flying Sabena will get you miles in your AAdvantage account. Also US shuttle flights will give you AA miles and then I would suggest you add your LH segments to your UA MP account.

I've flown Sabena years ago on a trip Duesseldorf-Bruxelles-Barcelona. BRU airport was dreadful, but the flights (in Y) were OK (short hops, though). A colleague flew DUS-BRU-JFK a while ago in Y and said it was OK, but not great. (of course, there are rumours that Sabena stands for "such a bloody experience, never again..."...)

Actually, SABENA stands for sauf accident, bien entendu, nous arriverons.

SABENA used to be known as the least expensive and worst western Europen carrier: old planes, chewy & tasteless beef stew, etc. But its economy is on a par with the rest of w. europe now (in large part because the rest of the airlines have lowered their standards).

Best part of the flight is hearing the announcements in Dutch, which is known among linguists as the Chinese of European languages.

Thanks for your help. I will be flying in "C" so that should make it a bit better. I will try to get miles in my AAdv. and MP accounts. But I thought that the Sabena/AA relationship was just codeshares (or am I wrong?)
