Rats. I need to always check here first before booking hotels.

Anyway - I'm heading to taipei in november for a week. I booked myself 6 nights at the hilton (though using points so its free). As a kid I was shipped off to taiwan almost every summer - I admired the lai lai and hoped to stay there one day. didn't realize it was a starwood property! I guess next time I'll burn up some starwood points!

Hilton Taipei is not a good choice.

The location is not right. Just next to the biggest train station in Taiwan, and the hilton is just next to the major hub fo dozens of bus routes. Crowdy ..and Traffic is really bad! Think about the massy crowd you would see when you step out of Hilton. Did I forget to mention the noise? The terrible traffic? The really bad air? Imagine a 20 years old hotel sitting right in the middle of towers of Times Square..

In comparison, Lai Lai or Westin Taipei is a much better choice.
