Rental Car Help Needed
I am traveling to Ireland next month and going standby don't know exactly when I will get in or what airport I will end up in eventually. What is the best way for me to get the best rental car deal under these circumstances? I should be arriving on 20Sept and departing on approx 25Sept. Any help is really appreciated. Last year I got really shafted by Budget in Dublin..thanks http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Hmmmmm......if you dont know where you are going, or when you are getting there and still want to "get the best car deal" you have me nicely confused. Only by defining the first two items can one logically begin to define or refine the last item. Booking in all Irish cities will not work, because of yield management, you may not get a good price because of your guessed arrival time even if they honor your reservation at an earlier/later time of day.

Rental cars are tight under any circumstances in Ireland. Having a firm reservation, a definite pick up time and a Hertz #1 Club Gold membership didn't even help me on one of my recent trips to Dublin. The Hertz agency in Donnybrook was out of vehicles and wasn't able to fulfill my rez with anything. I took a taxi back to the Westbury and, with the help of the concierge, was able to rent a late model Spec from Avis.

Thanks..but I'm non revving and the flight loads will determine where I end up and when..guess I'll end up taking my chances http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
