hotel in cairo?
 

i arrive in cairo at midnight tonight. any suggestions for a hotel not to far from the airport that's not too expensive? i leave early tomorrow morning. thanks.

The El Salam Hyatt is 15 minutes from the airport in Heliopolis and is a beautiful hotel. There is also the Heliopolis Sheraton which is 5 minutes from the airport. Pricewise, I'm sorry I can't help you as it has been a number of years since I've been there. Both are equal in luxuries and amenities and are very safe, well run hotels.

stealthflier, I have stayed at both the Cairo Nile Hilton and the El Gezirah Sheraton Towers & Casino, both which overlook the Nile . Though they are both in town and not next to the airport, they were both decent hotel properties, the Hilton being a little more dated than the Sheraton. Ask for a Nile view. At the Hilton, the rooftop restaurant allows viewing of the Pyramids.

The car ride into town was inexpensive also and both are near the Egyptian Museum, if you want to take a peek at King Tut, as well as shopping/eating nearby.
