Is Sprint PCS the best?
I get in and out of the U.S. 4 times a year and bought a Sprint PCS last year.Until recently, I could just terminate my contract with Sprint when I left the country and then re-connect when I got in.Now they say that if I terminate it, I have to pay a $30 re-connection fee just to get hooked up again. That means I'd have to pay like $120 for a year just to re-connect so I was wondering if there is any company out there with better coverage at a cheaper price?

I just joined up with Verizon wireless, which is a combination of GTE, and 3 or 4 other wireless companies. There rate plans allow for free long distance and roaming in the U.S. Have a look and see what you think: http://www.verizon.com I don't know if it'll help but it never hurts to look, otherwise you'll have to go with an international plan of some kind. ------------------ Cheers Scott [This message has been edited by Scott the flier (edited 08-15-2000).] |
Try to find a GSM operator in the US that have a roaming agreement with your Thai operator. That way you can keep your home phone when you visit USA. The GSM coverage is getting better and better every month.

Verizon is an outgrowth of Bell Atlantic, which swallowed up everything it possibly could, including NYNEX! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Verizon is also in the midst of labor strife that makes UA look like a cake walk http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif.

Verizon Communications and its unions on Tuesday wrestled over final contract disputes, including mandatory overtime and working conditions, in an attempt to end a 10-day strike by 87,000 telephone operators and line technicians.
