Nuggets of hard won road wisdom

PROBABLY THE most useful piece of travel advice I was ever given was : "Never pack anything you have to plug

in, iron or worry about losing." Probably the second-best was: "Every glass of 'free' mint tea you drink in a Moroccan carpet shop will end up costing you $600."
