I do find this of much interest, thank you Bill.

From what you have told us Bill, a property like the Hilton Short Hills (NJ's Only five-star property) must had did a lot of work and worry to keep its high rating (and OMNI: everyone must go to this property once, if only for the spa and the massages!)

What's this fixation on the US? Come on guys--there's a whole world for us Americans to explore out there

Now where is the news about the Canadian tourists getting shot while minding their own business in a Mazatlan restaurant when they got caught in an ambush on some DEA agents?

Catman,

You are right about the pressures on the managers of 5 star/diamond properties. Having that 5th star/diamond really raises the expectation of guests. It takes a lot of effort to maintain the high standards that are expected

Definitely not a job I would want.

Catman,

As evidence of some previous posts, you apparently appreciate a good steak. Have you ever eaten at Sammy's in Mendham?

Been to Le Bec Fin once - for lunch - I wanted to lap the rest of my soup off the sides of the bowl, it was sooooo yummy!! And the waitstaff, helpful without being stuffy!!! I don't care what Mobile says - Georges stills gets 5 stars in my book!!

Well, this is a good reason to fly US Airways Envoy Class. You get that little Le Bec-Fin logo on the cover of your menu.

I had the pleasure of having dinner at Le Bec-Fin a few years ago...and I still feel sick!
