The PIP Makes a Convert!
In the past my beloved has taken my addicition to mileage/status very lightly, maybe even with a hint of resentment. At one point he threatened to start a Flyer Spouse Support Talk Group.
He was a man, and did things his way--fastest, most direct and least expensive flights for him!! Well something has happened to his thinking since the PIP. He no longer insists on AA to Dallas to avoid a DEN connection and actually suggested UAL to Vegas over Alaska for status points. Got to hand it to him though, he is going at it with a true FT spirit....Now that he's made up his mind, he'll make Premier in March! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
But he's not a true addict until he gets his own handle and starts posting http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif.
In anticipation of that: Welcome aboard, Joe! |
My wife has been affected by that too. We take weekend e-savers every so often, but return at different times. I fly in first, she has to fly in coach. I convinced her after a few milage runs she'd be Preferred herself and get her own upgrade certs.
She agreed and we went on connecting flights when non-stops were available and is now Preferred on USAirways http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
Well if one spouse can be an addict, the other might as well get in the habit as well! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Lady Punki: may I suggest the handle "Captain Joe" for your great husband and a bruddar of mine (he captains "The SHibumi" and has a beard!) And just 30 posts and he becomes a member! the easiest elite club to join! |
