FD: How do you figure? I thought elite bonus miles were not given on *A flights?????? (at least I've never gotten them...)

But it WOULD make a fantastic elite level mileage run for North American UA, AC or LH folks looking to requalify levels. Here are the conditions:

Outbound travel valid on SK912 Newark-Copenhagen on December 7th or 8th.
Return travel valid on SK901 Copenhagen-Newark December 8th or 9th.
Return travel must take place on the day of arrival.
Reservation, payment and ticketing must be completed at the same time.
Tickets are non changeable and non refundable.
This offer does not apply to previously purchased tickets.
These tickets cannot be upgraded to a higher fare.
This promotion is valid for customers residing in the U.S. or Canada using an U.S. or Canadian issued credit card as payment.
Tickets for this promotion can only be issued by SAS in North America.
Taxes are additional.
Call 800-437-5804 to make your reservation Monday - Friday 9AM-8PM.

I don't see anything there about mileage earning restrictions or even upgrade restrictions...

Before everyone gets too excited, you may want to verify that this trip qualifies for ANY miles at all. Usually deeply discounted promotional fares on SAS do not give miles.

According to the 800#, *A miles ARE earned for these flights (3,849 each way)

But the fare is not upgradeable

I'd really be tempted if I hadn't already qaulified...

I too would be tempted if I already had not requalified.

But then Copenhagen by myself versus the greatest party in a true paradise, hawaii...
surrounded by dozens of friends.

As I said, glad I qualified because what could I do in Copenhagen by myself!

And flying each way in coach!

I've requalified too.. (PremEx for the first time, woo hoo!) But, another 7k or so miles would qualify me for yet another upgrade cert pack... Seems like a good deal for $149 in any case. Never been to Copenhagen either.. If any other wacky FTer is interested in joining myself and a friend, e-mail me.

axey: email received.
weekday or weekend?
main personal general (sightseeing) interests?
hours in CPH (they have a terrific all-new direct train link form CPH to downtown Copenhague central main station: 17 minutes)?

(The world-famous Tivoly Gardens are closed in Winter).

Tivoli Gardens was open for a couple of weeks around Christmas a year or two ago, and I heard they might continue the practice. If anyone is interested in going, check to see if they're open this year.

Check the website. This airfare actually includes the train ride (website says it's 12 minutes!) into town and admission to Tivoli.

wonderful Copenhagen HTTP://www.woco.dk

Tivoli http://www.tivoligardens.com/
Tivoli's Christmas Market will be open from 19 November to 23 December Sunday to Thursday 11.00-21.00 Friday and Saturday 11.00-22.00. It didn't take many years to make Tivoli's Christmas Market a Christmas tradition in Copenhagen. 1999 is the sixth year in a row that Tivoli will be open at Christmas. With every passing year the Tivoli Christmas Market has become bigger and more extravagant. This year is no exception as Head Designer, John Loring of Tiffany's & Company in New York, is in charge of the beautiful Christmas illuminations in the Gardens.

The Tivoli Lake by the Chinese Tower will be transformed into the city's most beautiful ice skating rink, where you can skate to waltz music under the stars. The World of the Christmas Pixies is hidden in the enormous tent by the Open Air Stage. See Father Christmas's workshop and the Christmas Pixie Mountain complete with waterfalls and sledging Christmas Pixies whizzing down the mountain.

Every day Father Christmas will be on hand to listen to Christmas present wishes whispered in his ear. As you go looking for him you'll also meet goats, sheep, geese and ponies, that you can ride.

21 of the Gardens' restaurants are open for traditional Christmas Lunch Buffets and a la carte dinners. The rides are open Sunday to Friday 11.30-20.45. Saturday 11.30-21.45.

In the Glass Hall Theatre the Crazy Christmas Cabaret will be playing from 19 November until the 31 December.

Throughout the entire Christmas Market season different bands will entertain you in the Promenade Pavilion. Lots of booths and stalls sell goodies and presents for young and old alike.

Join the Danes in a 'hyggelig' Christmas tradition at Tivoli's Christmas Market.

Thank you, Rudi and letiole. I was too lazy to look it up.

Tivoli was even prettier at Christmas than in the summer.
