CHI Hotels: Amb. East vs. Sutton Place

I will be traveling to Chicago next week and am planning to stay at the Omni Ambassador East. I am a select guest with Omni, and I understand the hotel was recently renovated. I really want to be near the hot restaurant/bar area on Rush, so I am thinking about switching to the Sutton Place.

Any feedback on these two hotels would be greatly appreciated. I thought about splitting the stay, but it's too much hassle.

Two excelent hotels here, IMHO. I'd go with Sutton Place even though the rooms are rather smallish. I think it's possibly the best "unknown" value in town based on location, quality of rooms and services including great (but not heavenly) beds and food!

Thanks doc. My query is now moot...I foolishly ventured over to MS Expedia Hotel PriceMatcher. Asked for a 4* hotel Nov 10-12 downtown (loop) or the northside (mich ave & lincoln park) for $110....I ended up with the Hyatt Regency. Oh well, I'll save some $$$ (cheapest rate at Hyatt was $199 or $155 with UA coupon). It's also a block from the (sold-out) Fairmont, where I will be attending a conference.
