Melissa, I'll just throw this tidbit in...

About 6 years ago I was flown out to SFO to interview with a Chinese co. based in So. San Fran.

As most of us know, US hotels don't have a 13th floor. This company had a contract with the Holiday Inn/Burlingame and put me up there. Not only was I put on the 13th floor, my room number was 1313! I was told later that to Chinese people the number 13 is considered lucky.

BTW, I turned down the job offer, though it was tempting to live in the Bay area.

Melissa, First Southerner is spelled with a capital! We are a proud lot. Now as to this topic, I was put in same hotel room (503) in Dallas and next week in Baltimore.
Being an engineer I calculated the odds of this happening randomly and found it to be around 28,000,000 to 1. So guess what I bet 503 in the next daily double and GUESS WHAT! I lost. So much for fate and the numbers game.

Shadow:

13 has always been my lucky number. My birthday is 1/3.

It was also my baseball uniform, although in light of some of my outings, it was pretty lucky for the opposing team as well.

But what really makes it lucky for me is that all 3 of my kids were born on the 13th. (March, May and August, respectively).
