Carry on size solution

Instead of templates, visual inspections, size boxes, etc. the FAA should require all carry on to be first placed in an agreed upon size trash compactor. The machine would then be turned on and, like magic, all luggage passing the check point would comply!!!

End of story. End of problem. These things are so simple to solve!

Give ranles a Pabst Blue Ribbon! http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif (It doesn't hafta be PBR (yecch!) but any adult beverage of your preference will do... http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif )

How many times have I seen people with carry-ons literally bursting at the seams -- and then they ..... about "it meets airline carry-on requirements!"? Too many times to count.

If there is a rule less uniformly applied than the carry on baggage "limitations" I've never heard of it! Admittedly this is a solution that would work!

Hey, cmon guys. This is absolutely nothing new or unique. It's old wine in a new bottle.

As I painfully remember, OJ Simpson did this a couple of years ago on a AA red-eye LAX to ORD. His garment bag "disappeared", and he retired to the golf course and to catching the REAL CRIMINAL.

Now lets come up with a NEW solution.

ps and to think, I am the only Junior Member replying to this post.

I do wish there was a way to make carry-on disappear, although I know that most of you folks live out of it on the road. The solution? Eliminate the overheads and make everything fit under the seat (except for the bulkhead rows, where there is no "under the seat.") Of course, that would generate a war for the few overhead spaces, pitting actual bilkhead sitters against their elite fellows who got on first. Oh, well.

"would generate a war"? That's right Korea was not a war either, just a police action!
