Hotel at LAX

Due to a change of schedule on an upcoming
vacation, my wife and I will need to spend a
night near LAX, and will depart early in the A.M. Looking for suggestions for a clean
reasonably priced, and safe place to stay with good access to the airport, shuttle, and a decent restaurant on site if possible.

Oh my, there are a ton!
A short brief:
Renaissance is close with a shuttle, but off the main street (Century Blvd.)
Doubletree is farther from the airport, don't know about shuttle, and should be relatively quiet.

I suggest you go to the hotel forums, pick your favorite chain or where you have status/points, and do a search on "LAX" "Los Angeles airport" or similar; you'll get a ton of hits. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif

Have you ever tried Priceline? I use it every time I need to stay near LAX.

I can usually get a room at the LAX Westin for less than $50.

Otherwise, the Wyndham, Westin, Marriott, etc, are all close to the airport. Try their home pages for special offers.

About 10 minutes from LAX in Manhattan Beach is Barnaby's. It is a charming "old english" type hotel..rooms furnished with antiques etc. They have a nice restaurant on the premises or there is Manhattan Mall across the street with a CPK, China Grill & other places to eat. I think they have an airport shuttle that is an old english taxi. Last i checked they had some decent corporate rates, around $100. It is a lovely hotel with nice gardens & pool. They have lots of weddings ther because it is very pretty. Trust me, you'll love it. Much better than those big Hilton/Sheraton chains. Email me if you can't find the phone #.

We have the same situation of staying overnight at LAX. We are staying at the Hilton LAX. The cost is $88 night using our AAA discount. They also had a non-refundable rate of $79, which we chose to skip because of potential flight changes/delays. Since I'm a Hilton Gold, I'm looking for an upgraded room as well.

I second the value of Priceline in this situation. I've always gotten the Wyndham, Westin, or Sheraton for around $40.
