This seems to happen to me at least once a year in SEA when flying AS.

IAH-SEA-FAI last month.

Both times in 2F.

Had enough time to stop in the N lounge for a snack and Clase Azul

Now that I think about it, I did experience this once. Flying BUF-ORD-MSP on UA, same plane both legs. Different flights and the crew changed, as well (would have been really funny to have the same flight attendants, since I'd just done an ORD-BUF-ORD mileage run so had the same crew on both those flights).

Brutal schedule. I see our F/As working that kind of trip all the time, though. I'm too old for that. I don't fly redeyes anymore. Haven't flown one in at least six or seven years. That's why I stay on the narrowbody.

My first (of a grand total of three) flight on TW was the last leg of a BOS-EWR-LAX-SFO flight. I don't know what the schedules were on the first two legs, but LAX-SFO left at 0200 and arrived at 0250. Woof! (This was a 707, if anyone cares.)

Happened to me also on WN last summer, SAN-BWI-CHS. Was not a continuing flight number so we couldn't stay on (and wouldn't want to since it was a 3 hour layover).

I once flew BA from DXB to JFK via LHR. Got off my first flight at LHR, had to go through the whole rigmarole of re-clearing transit security only to end up at the same gate and boarding the same plane I had arrived on! And I was in the same seat on both flights.

Wow thats actually pretty funny. Never happened to me either. Would have been even better if you could have just stayed on the plane.

Y'all are making me feel old. I remember being on plenty of "direct, with stops" flights were we only got off if that was our destination/connecting point.

Now "direct" means nothing other than a shared flight number. Everybody gets off no matter what. I've missed the 2nd segment of a same flight number trip because the 1st segment was late.

Recently had the same scenario @ SCL. The little security pull tab from my first segment amenity kit was still in the storage space.

I thought SCL had an international terminal with immigration/customs only needed for landside or a domestic flight.

And you are correct. This was transit security.
