Best Airport Hotel for Planespotting
Yes, I'm one of those idiots who ask for a room facing the flightpath.
What would you suggest as the best Hotel for Planespotting. Best views of the Airfield, most variety of planes/airlines, Outdoor terraces or room floor/sectors?

Nope. Love planes, love flying, love travelling.
Would try and fit a stopover there on a trip if possible or even a specifc trip to that place.
The ones that come to mind for me that I have been are the Farimont @ YVR. I've alss spend a long layover at the Airways hotel near POM that is on somelists, but not quite what I'm looking for.
I'm sure some people here have some suggestions. .

I've been to two. And Airways Hotel at POM is far from the fiels and does not qualify as a good hotel for Planespotting.
I also doubt those are the only ones.
Is there a hotel near the fence at SXM, for example?

I haven't been there in ages, but used to visit often and I never noticed any hotels close by.
ETA: I just remembered that I watched YouTube video a few months ago in which a plane narrowly missed hitting a hotel on approach to SXM. The hotel wasn't on top of the runway; pilot error brought the plane to it.

I've stayed at the ATL Renaissance with the idea of seeing lots of planes. The article said all rooms are soundproofed, but it was so loud that I barely got any sleep on that one night stay.
Also stayed several times at MCO Hyatt. It's a great place if you have an early flight and I couldn't believe how quiet the rooms were. Even the rooms with outside decks were very quiet. It must be because the runways are quite far from the hotel. I mean for an airport hotel, it is unbelievably quiet.
I think the loudest hotel I've ever stayed at was the Hilton at LAX. We recently had to overnight at LAX and I was just dreading it because of the Hilton experience, but strangely enough, the Crowne Plaza was incredibly quiet. The downside is our room at the CP faced away from the main runways, so it wouldn't be the greatest for planespotting.

Get a runway view room on a high floor at the TWA Hotel at JFK airport.

I edited my post to include a link to a hotel website page that has photos. I had a room with a lovely view of the driveway to and from the JetBlue terminal (I was there on a group rate and they quoted me more than twice as much for a runway view room).

normally I think they charge ~$50 premium for a runway view
pic is obviously NOT a runway view but gives an idea of the orientation … iirc this was in the mid to high 700s (in fact might have even been 767)
