IRROPS (how to pronounce)
Might be addressed elsewhere but with IRROPS, how does one say this aloud? Speak the individual letters or pronounce it like a word?

given that IROPS / IRROPS is short for “Irregular Operations” it would seem that the pronunciation of the first syllable should indeed be “ear”

Just as it looks - irr ops. If you say "ear" for the first syllable it appears only one nationality will understand you.

Would that be the same nationality that pronounces the Central American nation - 'Coast-a Rica' ?

Would that be the nationality that pronounces the classic 16th century novel "Don Quick-sote by Sir Vantees?"

I say ear-rohps, my boss, a professor and the lead on our IRROPS project says eye-rohps...so I guess I'm going to have to defer to her judgement...

You could always tell your boss that we said she is wrong. Let us know how that works out.

I know "ear" is more logical, but I've always said it as "eye".

Why not just use a real word like "delayed" or "cancelled"?

Or, indeed, just say something which will be understood by all, such as "messed up", or its near cousin beginning with an "f".

I say irregular operations, disrupted trip, or delayed/canceled flight.
