Need help identifying fuselage windows
 

Hi all,

Apologies for posting this here - I couldn't see anywhere more appropriate. I hope I'm not too obviously wrong.

I'm trying to identify as much as I can about this piece of fuselage (manufacturer would be great, type of plane even better!). The seller thinks it's from an Airbus plane but doesn't seem at all sure - can anyone out there have an educated guess? It's (apparently) roughly 2.5m by 1.2m if that helps.

It doesn't look like any plane I've seen in the past 20 years except perhaps some private jets, based on the width to height radio of the windows. It might be an older unpressurized aircraft like a DC3 or something. I'm just guessing, I have no actual idea, sorry. I'd try googling photos of all the major aircraft and comparing. Chances are in 30 mins and 50 different aircraft you'll find it if it's a somewhat popular aircraft

Pictures of inside, markings on components, cross section view would help. Latter would gve some indication of fuselage diameter and narrow down the possibilities.

DC-8 or Embraer Jet series (140 & 170)

Wow - thanks for the incredibly helpful answers. I really had no idea how to start looking, so the advice was great. But Spanish's suggestions are brilliant - having looked quite closely, the Embraer 170 looks a likely candidate.

I've now got some pictures of the inside and thought I'd post them up to see if the codes mean anything to anyone. I think they might!

It would be great to see an aircraft mechanic look at those... The materials, the rivets, the way the metals are joined, and the number sequences may provide information regarding your airplane parts. It just needs to be viewed by somebody that's an expert with this stuff. I'd think for a mechanic, this would be everyday knowledge depending on the types of planes most commonly maintained. Keep us posted.

I've managed to take some pictures of the interior, as that's my only chance of doing as Spanish suggested and actually showing it to a mechanic or someone else who might have an idea.
