WN 440 AUS-LAX

Two music towns, though a stop in BNA would make it (pitch) perfect.

(For the non-musicians: 440 cps = A above middle C)

Unlike BA, Air France just used the normal 'Airfrans' callsign. They never differentiated between Concorde and other AF flights.
Still something special about Speedbird One (even without the Concorde addition)

I was a regular on BD1 for a few months. Until recently my most frequent flight as BA1337 which reminds me of ‘leet speak’ which was popular among certain groups of people when I was a student

In January, 1978, I had a reservation on UA Flight 666 from CLE-DCA and was working at an all-news radio station. The Thursday night trip was for a Friday job interview, and our weather guy told me it would be a cold day in hell before I ever caught that flight. The storm of the century was coming, he told me. And he said if I didn't get in my car by 830pm that Wednesday night and head east at 50 miles per hour, I'd never make it to DC alive. I thought he was joking, but he assured me repeatedly he was not.

They called that storm the Cleveland Superbomb, and he was right that Flight 666 did not operate that Thursday, nor did any other flight for days. Look up Cleveland Superbomb and you will see why.

I did as Stan the Weatherman told me to do, got in the car, and hauled tail over the Alleghenies that Wednesday night.

I arrived for my job interview one day early, got the job, and never did take UA Flight 666. that time or ever again.

My other favorite flight numbers were Aloha 100 and 442, because the Nisei Boys were my idols - the most highly decorated combat unit in WWII.

BA 112. JFK-LHR. Here in EU instead 911, we use 112 as emergency line. But its mainly special for me, because that was my first time ever flying the 747.

Back when NW was still operating, their HNL-MSP flight was NW808, a nod to their area code. Then when HA began serving JFK, their intro fares were USD212 each way, as a nod to Manhattan’s area code.

Below was my coolest flight number… National π-Day on flight 314. And I shared an apple pie with the flight crew.
