Is this normal for an OTA?

I've booked with AA Vacations (BA), Delta Vacations, an Orbitz (AF), to get deals on J tickets + hotels. With both Skyteam reservations, when DL changed a flight by a measly 10-20 minutes, the whole thing went into disarray and it took significant (20+ minute) phone calls to resolve. My only times having AA schedule changes were when booked directly so reticketing is immediate.

So I'm curious if this is a Skyteam thing (in which case I'd seriously consider staying with OW partners when booking packages), or if it's an OTA thing, in which case I'll suck it up because the savings are significant.

It’s generally an OTA thing.
