Prefer to fly on the 787-9

The 787-9 seems to be the only plane where I do not pass out, so now I'm a bit superstitious and think that it's lucky to travel on. Am I the only one or is there something special about the plane's cabin pressure? I don't particularly look forward to even flying on the A380.

Hi,

The 787 ( and the A380) have a higher cabin pressure ( closer to sea level) than other aircraft so you should feel better coming off these jets than other planes.

Regards

It's higher, not lower. :)

OP, do you have trouble visiting places like Santa Fe, New Mexico? It's above 7,000 feet and has only slightly higher atmospheric pressure than airliners other than the 787 and A380.

The A380 and 787 both have higher pressurization such that their cabin altitude can be set to equate to approximately 6,000 feet, rather than the ~8,000 feet on other airliners. A healthy person shouldn't experience fainting at 8,000 feet though, so if that's happening to you, a visit to the doctor would be in order.

787 economy seats have 31" pitch. There are roomier economy seats on other planes.

Uh, no. This is entirely variable across airlines.

The 787 is known for having very skinny seats since most airlines have it in a 3-3-3 config (with JAL being the only 2-4-2 holdout), but even then there's variation between airlines in the precise Y seat width.

The OP is concerned with cabin pressure and not passing out (apparently) in-flight, not with seat pitch or roominess.

The OP should also be fine on the A350 which has even greater pressurisation / lower cabin altitude than the 787, and is even quieter.

Source? Everything I've read say they are both are capable of 9.4 psid, equivalent to 6K ft at max cruising altitude.

THIS!!!

I can only find that the A380, 787 and A350 all have 6000ft cabin altitude rather then the usual 8000ft.
