Fares to L.A. from Europe
I've been researching fares from Europe to LAX since late July or so and ended up booking on Air France. This month BA lowered their fares and a few days later AF, KL, LH, etc. followed suit. But now British Airways further lowered their fares and I regret the decision I made even though I prefer AF and CDG over BA and LHR (had I waited a few days and I could have saved about 60 euros). There's nothing I can do about it of course, but do you know why they do this? I'm guessing that AF and others will lower their fares even further than BA in the next few days. I don't want to make the same mistake again.

I wouldn't worry about it:
(1) 60 euros is a pretty small movement. Trying to book fares at the *absolute lowest price* and missing by 60 euros isn't bad. (Just because it dropped once doesn't mean it'll drop again.)
(2) I'm guessing you're flying coach here. If so, AF has a pretty decent product compared to the others. No, none of it is great, but if I were looking at AF vs. BA, with equal total duration and no elite status, I'd pay a little more for AF.

Norwegian and the Icelandic carriers are causing quite some disruption on those routes. As others have advised, the best approach is to stop checking prices after you've booked.
