who decided it was uncouth to have a naked hair dryer in a hotel room?

Is it me, or is anyone else puzzled and/or borderline inconvenienced by hotel hair dryers having to be hidden away in a secret location and stored in cloth bags?

Are we back in the Victorian era where these things are not supposed to be seen naked and unclothed in the bathroom?

I guess it would be immodest to have them conveniently at hand where people tend to use them!

My guess, it's you.
It's not uncommon in luxury hotels/resorts to hide them away in a cotton bag

lol

What frustrates me is when you get it out and leave it nicely on the counter they wrap the cord so tightly, within an inch of its life around the handle and put it away in its little bag. Often in another room. Then every morning I have to do the frantic unwinding.

I hate them touching my toilet paper and folding it in to a point.

It's probably so the cord isn't flapping around everywhere.

Or to avoid having people complain that they didn't wrap the cord.

I don't use the hair dryer. Storing it in a cloth bag seems sensible, given that not everyone uses it and the hair dryer won't inconvenience me all while staying clean for the next customers that will need it.

Agreed. I don't like alot of clutter in the bathroom, so if it can be stored out of sight, that's fine by me.

Often hair dryers come with different attachments, and the bag is to contain them in our experience.

If you keep it on washbasin top it takes space from people who don't need it. Also, if you put it on bag, it helps the cleaning the room.

I prefer when they bracket it on the wall, like I prefer those tubes of shampoo, etc. mounted on the shower wall. So classy....

I absolutely agree about the toilet paper and feel the same when the "kleenex" are folded into a design at the top of the box.

I don't mind the bag or the tight cord winding, but why are they so often in a drawer in the other room or in the closet? And why is the location so often unlabeled? When I'm in a hurry, Find the Hairdryer is not a game I want to be playing.

As to the topic at hand, completely agree. Why is it so difficult to unravel a hair dryer, let alone find it! After painstakingly setting it up the first day, it's very annoying to find it right back in its hiding place all wound up night after night.
