First time in 1A

The other day it hits. :D

Ok, it's in a CRJ9 and only a shorthaul (MAN-CGN) - but anyway. Looking forward to see it.

Would like to hear some old-timers (or fresh hits) about the first time in 1A (or 2A if you prefer).

Until I only have the BP, report due for Tuesday night.

The protocol is to spam all of your social media accounts with a Pic Stitch of 3 photos:

1. close-up of seat assignment printed on boarding pass
2. selfie from seat
3. PDB on tray

HAHAH. That is definitely SOP #RKOI #Winning #FirstClass :p.

I do try to get 1A, I really like that seat.

Depends on the plane, 1A in F on Emirates or Cathay, both of which I'm pleased to have done, it can't be beat!

On a domestic F setup, 2A is my jam. I really dislike the bulkhead.

Glad to know I'm not the only freak out there who hates the 'superior' bulkhead seat. I want my underseat storage space!

Second that! My most memorable 1A was FRA-SFO on LH's A380 but even there I prefered row 2 on the way back :)

First time was a long haul US Airways Flight (PHL->BRU) circa '09 or so. Can't remember the specific aircraft, but the seat was leather and almost fully reclined, but wasn't a lie flat. There was nothing preventing me from sliding forward and off of the seat as I tried to sleep in the "almost lying down" position.

I got off the plane and realized that I have actually gotten better sleep in coach on long haul flights by wedging myself between my seat, the seat in front of me, and the window than in Business/First Class. That's changed in the years of the lie-flat seats, of course.

Welcome to FT mdkowals!

If it's bulkhead with no room, I will select 2A instead.

PAX_fips Dec 9, 2016 9:49 am

after some pictures and "memories", I changed the seat to 2A.

Domestic F 1A. Nothing special. Shouldn't be called F.

I hate bulkhead too.

I like bulkhead seats because even worse than no leg room is having a seat back slam down into my space.

I sat in 1A on an AA E75 the other day. Great seat w lots of leg room and no one next to you!

This!

No selfie or BP picture :-)

Would go for 2F next time (bulkhead behind toilet). From left 1 or 2 you would look into that (EW CRJ900).
Legroom at bulkhead some +10cm. In further rows it's the same as with the "extra legroom" rows 4-9.

Could have been testing all the seats - noone around, best perk :-).
