Is Orion travel tech legit?

I've been searching online about this company http://oriontraveltech.com/ but have not found anything except the same old press releases. Is this company legit? Will it actually get off the ground or was this just a pretext to get a huge amount of private information on sign-up and sell it? Almost a "too good to be true" idea, so I'm skeptic.

I apologize if this has been asked before, I used the search function but nothing came up..

Looks more like a school project than something real. There are links to press releases and paid/sponsored "news stories" on a few sites. And a twitter account with about a post a month and about the worst photo possible.

Certainly not something I'd share my info with.

The $50 baggage fee program is no longer being offered. The company claims that advertisers are reluctant to go forward because they want to see if the other parts of the program are fruitful. This information is posted on globetrotternation.com, the company's member-only login site. Oddly, the company won't post this info on the Orion Tech site nor on its FB page.

I don't think the company is legit either

Like other folks that originally signed up, I got an e-mail today from Gary German, the CEO. He says that most of the hundreds of thousands that signed up in 2015 were Nigerian scammers, or from outside the U.S., or folks that just wanted the free luggage for resale. He says the membership fee is to prove to sponsors that registrants are legitimate travelers, not scammers.
This time, he gives much more detail, such as photos of the carry-on with Orion logos, that they will be delivered as soon as mid-October, and that sponsors will start to jump on board to help repay for baggage fees, or even another free luggage, in Spring 2017. Big offer, very tempting, of course.
A couple of small red flags just from this e-mail, though. Thanks to the CAN-SPAM act of 2003, companies are required to "Tell recipients how to opt out of receiving future email from you," which his e-mail does not. The other thing I noticed is that their website displays an "Accredited A+ BBB business" image, but the BBB website lists them as unaccredited.
The claims are tempting, but I'd say it is too early to jump on board just yet. Need to see some valid, strong reviews first.

"The travel industry has always been segmented into small cliches."
cliches?

And try following some of the links. Still either scam or incredible incompetent.
