Just heard on CNN that US has issued a worldwide travel advisory.

How does this affect you ? Will leisure travel diminish ? Award seats easily available ?

Some places to visit will be less busy. Leisure travel patterns will change but people still have vacations they want to take.

I'm going to Dubai, Spain and Morocco in March. I'm not cancelling anything, but recent events do have me a little more worried than normal.

I've always felt statistically safer as an American leaving America than staying home.

Interesting time. Smack middle of the start of busiest travel season. Is the State Dept simply trying to 'lift the responsibility off their shoulders'?

Edit: can this be used by people as an 'out' to cancel nonrefundable travel plans?

Headed to London on Thursday for a long weekend. Changing plans on a trip like that just doesn't make any sense. If we do....they win.

The sky is falling for sure.

The world is no more dangerous than the US. Did they advise people not to travel to NOLA?

All this fear.

I've asked this in another thread too...what would the Department of State's description about the US be?

Not to mention, if it's a worldwide advisory, people probably shouldn't travel around the US too, no (otherwise, it's a ploy in fostering domestic tourism this holiday season. Yep, I'm 100% skeptical of everything the DoS promulgates).
