Stomach bloating in-flight

Wonder how many others experience an uncomfortable expansion of their stomach in-flight, which is magnified sitting for so long in cramped seats.
What helps with this? I tried simethicone (over-the-counter) before my flight and losing weight over the years. Still an issue.

A couple of suggestions:
1. Avoid sorbitol
2. Avoid carbonated beverages
3. Reduce fat intake
4. Stand up for a few minutes frequently.

5. Fart every once in a while.

Good, but we would appreciate knowing what flights OP will be on, in case we wish to make alternate arrangements.

Sorry if this is a newsflash to you, but there is a lot of farting going on on all flights, all the time! ;)

Yes indeed. But now they encourage it:

I remember a trip report a few years back talking about some long haul flight with a plane load of flatulent pax. Hilarious reading, but no fun being there.

I find this happens often to me when I'm hungry and my stomach is empty. If I've got food in me it never happens.

Do what I do - put the overhead air vent on full blast...and have it aimed NOT at you, but the person next to you...and blast a flatus away. Be sure it's a SBD and try not to laugh or make commotion when it hits you..........

Stand up release gas while glaring at another passenger. I go to lav often

Is that a form of 'crop dusting'?

How long before your flight? I usually take it 30-60 minutes prior to departure. If I wait to take it until I'm on the plane, there might be issues.

That won't open for me, but I'm guessing it falls into the category of someone having too much time on their hands!

Farting is okay. Just don't ask a row mate or a flight attendant to pull your finger.

A line has to be drawn somewhere.:D
