Anyone have ideas on how I can get a first class ticket Denver to Boston on Mother's Day?

Why don't you try on your own to look for deals and report back what you find, rather than putting no effort into this. Then we will help you find better deals.

I would suggest hopping first on Google flights and selecting "business class".
if those prices are too high for you then I would next ask what status you had, if any, on airlines. If you have status that would give you any kind of upgrade list priority coupled with the means to upgrade (AAdvantage Plat with 500 mile sticker upgrades, or other carriers' miles, etc).
Lastly take a look at what points you have and see if it would make sense to use points to take your trip, though I suspect otherwise as domestic first redemption are in my experience a poor use of points, but you never know given the circumstances.

I am assuming, like many people who are not familiar with booking travel online, that you don't know how to search for business or first class airfares on airline and other websites. Many people here are so used to that they forget it is sometimes not very intuitive.

All the airline booking sites have an advanced flight search page, usually accessible by a tiny little link below the space where you enter quick search details on the main airline page. If you look, there should be a box labelled class of service or cabin. that is where you select if you are looking for coach or economy fares.

Keep in mind that from Denver, only three airlines offer direct service. And two of them - JetBlue (B6) and Southwest (WN) do not have first class cabins on board their planes.

You should also do a search on this forum for how to use ITA Matrix. This search engine offers a lot of advanced search features and ofter turns up some good deals, especially if you are willing to make a connection.

I would not get my hopes up on finding something cheap for this Mothers Day. You are too close to departure date for the best airfares, and Sundays are especially pricey.

With respect, if someone managed to log on to FT, a simple search on www.kayak.com is not going to be rocket science. That would be a good place to start looking for fares and routings.

A quick Kayak search tells me that a one-way ticket from DEN-BOS would be over twice as expensive as a coach fare ($421 vs $196 on AA) if you wanted to leave on Saturday.

OP, you should be aware that domestic first is nothing special these days, with the only real advantages being a slightly larger seat, free alcohol on board, and possibly a meal depending on trip length. Personally, I'll take the upgrade when offered to me (via FF status), but I wouldn't pay the premium to buy F outright. Maybe it's worth it to you, but you should be informed and set your expectations accordingly before purchasing.

Are you traveling with your mother? One alternative might be to buy three more legroom seats on B6 and leave the middle seat open between the two of you. IF you can consolidate your carryons a bit, bring a little soft sided cooler and pack some snacks for your catering service, and treat yourself to wine. Use frozen peas to keep things cold.

Since no one has bothered to actually answered your question, I will try --

Start with United - go to the United website - www.united.com - and take a look at the big box along the left side of the screen. Enter whether you are looking for one way or roundtrip. Enter your date(s) of travel, # of people traveling, under "cabin" choose first class, and click search. The next screen will show you the nonstop and connecting flights available and the fare for first class tickets.

Repeat the same procedure with American Airlines, Delta Airlines, and USAirways. Those are the airlines that offer 1st class seating and fly between Denver and Boston. Among those, only United has nonstop flights.

I'm grateful for all of you. For the record, I appreciate your advice on where to post and am grateful for your patience as I find my way here.

Second, I am familiar with online searching and travel sites and booking but learning about premium. I hope to soon be savvy enough to provide you value as well. It is indeed lovely to be able to help each other and I want to ensure that the fares I save are passed on to others as well.
