I think wearing a mask is kinda sexy...makes the wearer mysterious and alluring.

On of the weirder experiences I've had was flying EZE-GRU-MEX right when the bird flu epidemic in Mexico was breaking out. Many cancellations, so we had about 30-40 pax on a widebody, about half of them wearing masks and more of them looking quite spooked. The FAs put out wrapped food/drinks in a buffet and disappeared, and everyone spread out to their own row.

MEX itself was weird, very little traffic, all the restaurants were limited to food to go only. Stayed in a great B&B and had a great time cooking dinner with the other travelers there; drank too much beer....

I was living in Mexico City during this time. I needed to go to work before the government put the quarantine in place but things were still rough so we wore high efficiency face masks (not the soft ones you usually see, but hard ones). I still got the swine flu... All my friends were out partying during that "vacation" week they got while I was home feeling like crap.

I wear a surgical mask, it keeps germs away,just like in the operating room.

It also keeps the middle seat empty on a WN Flight...
