Airline pajamas / sleeper suit comparison chart
I'm compiling a spreadsheet of airline sleeper suits/pajamas as a cross-reference as to fit and fabric content. I would appreciate any feedback whatsoever regarding the pajamas you have actually worn, and how the sizing compares with other airlines.
Example: I am now sitting in a Qantas "Akira" lounge suit, size M, 100% cotton. It is actually even looser and more baggy than my comfy BA 100% cotton sleeper suit, while my AA pajamas in size L/XL, made of 80% poly/20% cotton is tight in all the wrong places, compared to the BA suit and certainly the QF suit. Thanks in advance for your input and I hope to have this chart out for y'all soon. |
best and most size-correct: LX, LH
bad: TG atrocious: BA, OZ the latter have funky 3/4th length sleeves, are billowy, and on BA basically constructed from paper |
from memory in 2014
Good: NH,LH,LX,CA F Bad: TG F, VA J Atrocious: QR J |
SQ was the best IME.

Never worn airline jarmies. I wear my own. I do bring them home and give them to friends who like to pretend they have worn them up the front of the plane.
I can't believe Givenchy has given their name to the SQ jarmies. They are just like a cheap pair of track suit pants and sweater. |
I was quite chuffed when Qatar offered me a pair of jarmies 2 sizes smaller than what would fit me!
|
Good: QF F; EY F; QR J;
Bad: EY J; TG F |
CX is hands down the best pair I've received.

EK F seem to be sized right but are made of awful synthetic. Sad, considering what the suites go for.

I can't compare them to other airlines, but I have a pair of the ones from SQ from 2008, made by Givenchy. They're nominally a medium but seem very generously sized to me, and they are the most hideous shade of mustard brown I've ever seen. 96% cotton, 4% lycra - and the worst aspect is that there's some very scratchy binding tape along the inside where the collar meets the neck that makes the top unwearable as far as I'm concerned. I'm happy to send them to anyone who has a use for them...
