Manchester - Mumbai economy best option

I'm due to take a work trip either on 1st or 8th February for 6/7 days to Mumbai.

Unfortunately, the policy is economy travel unless there is a cheaper Premium Economy or Business fare available.

What would anyone recommend - I can do BA via LHR, Qatar via DOH , Emirates A380 via DXB and lots of other options?

Any advice or recommendations appreciated!

What do you classify as 'best'?

Lowest price?
Most comfort?
Shortest overall flying time?
Specific flight timing?
Best earning to a specific frequent flyer program?

I'd say:

1) Most comfort
2) Shortest flying time

Cheers!

I would suggest you look at the various flight timings and rule out carriers that do not suit, then look at the aircraft operating each route and compare their economy class configuration.
For example, I think that the QR economy hard product (A332 and B77W) is slightly better than BA's A320 and B777. However, QR would mean two medium length flights compared to BA's short domestic followed by a longhaul direct.

I would almost always prefer that over a proper long haul in economy. QR economy product is pretty good as well.

In that case, it's a choice between BA, Emirates, QR or Etihad.

For EK, is the A380 economy product better than the others?

For the dates I've checked, EK offers an A380 on one segment and a 777/77W on the other segment with 10 across in economy which is quite tight.

Otherwise in economy there is not that much of a difference between carriers compared to Premium/Business/First which has a much wider variety of hard and soft products. Hence I would primarily focus on schedules.

The January trip never came off, but looks like this Sunday or Monday is when I'll be going.

Any additional views aside from those already?

Since this is a general travel question rather than one about award programs, it is off-topic for the Info Desk. Let's see how it does here in the TravelBuzz forum.

I

Whatever you do, do not choose Jet! Im on the return leg of UDR-DEL-BRU-MAN and they are without a doubt the worst airline I've had the misfortune to fly.

Don't know if you've already booked, but TK is said to have a decent Economy class. I would check their fares and connection times via IST.
