The delay is just 1 hour. If it were my flight, I wouldn't try to get that time back by leaving for the airport 1 hour later. It's too little gain to be worth the risk that the airline may somehow pull its schedule back in, even if by just 20 minutes-- causing me to miss the flight through my own fault. I would use that extra 1 hour to get to the airport without rushing, maybe enjoy a bit of food there or a drink in the lounge, or simply find a comfortable chair and camp out with my computer to get some work done that way.

In any event, have always heard that check-in closes based on the original ETD.

Just today I was arrived late to my flight (got stuck on an highway for 1hour for unknown reason, no escape and nothing else to do than wait), anyway I arrived at the airport at T-50 and the check in counter were closed (outstation with no office or staff around), the flight was delayed by 80min but it was impossible to check in,
I had to reach the call center to get rebooked on the next available service, Bottom line is, if its your airline hub, you may get away with arriving late when your plane is delayed, but at the outstation where staff is contracted and your airline don't have any ground presence, expect the staff to be gone as soon as their official shift is over |
