Do you miss flying on any defunct airlines?

Ever since deregulation, countless airlines have came and went. National, Braniff, Pan Am, Eastern, TWA, Northwest, Continental, CP Air, Canadian Airlines, Jetsgo, etc you name it.

Usually I just give an indifferent shrug when I'm told another airline has disappear, its just the way airline business work these days. But sometimes I wonder whether I actually miss flying on those defunct airlines. Come to think of it, I kinda actually do. The airline that I missed flying on was...PSA (Pacific Southwest Airlines). I was only a little kid when I flew on it, but I remember it well, that goofy smile on the nose of their planes, the warm and friendly flight attendants and the generally laid-back atmosphere.

So, do you miss flying on any defunct airlines?

Definitely! I loved flying on Ansett. I sometimes wonder what Australian aviation would look like today if AN was still flying.

I miss Northwest. I miss TWA a little.

I had a very memorable flight on a TriStar BAe 146 flight LAX-SFO. There were fewer than a dozen passenger. That's not quite a record. Once I was ticketed on a flight with only one other passenger and another time I was the only passenger.

I miss Northwest. Going to the D on Northwest was one of those things.

Either an L-1011 TriStar (rather big) or a British Aerospace 146 (rather small). On LAX-SFO most likely the latter, but TWA never operated the 146.

TriStar Airlines flew BAe 146s on a number of routes in the western U.S. in the 1995-1996 time frame

I second PSA. Hilarious flight attendants. Flew many times up and down California.
