Canning jars as carry-on?

I'd like to bring a 12-pack flat of canning jars (like this) as carry-on baggage on an international flight. Anyone think that would be a problem? Just want to make sure that large quantities of glass won't be an issue.

Empty jars? In theory, you should not face any problems. ^

Thanks! Canning is not a popular sport in Cambodia so I need to import them. :)

I haven't traveled with a full flat of them, but I had some on a domestic flight when my family returned some used ones to me. No questions at all.

Huh? Is it a popular sport anywhere?

Just put your delicates and makeup inside the jars and pretend that's how you always travel :) Give the TSA something to ponder in their off-duty hours.

Empty should be fine. Full sadly not...

So what do you do with the empty jars? Throw them?

As this topic relates to travel matters in general, rather than miles and programs, the thread has been relocated to the TravelBuzz forum for further discussion.

Good luck!

They won't let you bring canning jars at security. You have to placed them into checked bag. They won't let you through. Do not bring canning jars at security. They will take it away from you.

And why would that be?

I find this thread truly bizarre!

Because they have more capacity than the maximum 3 oz. limit?

(The container must be capable of holding no more than three ounces regardless of how much is in it.)
