What does one expect from someone who demands 50 per cent of all seats on all aircraft be non-reclining just so she can hand a sippy cup to her kids? It's just soooo "super awkward" otherwise.

Actually, no.
2. No one said 50%

It would make sense either to have, e.g. the left side of the plane be for Recliners and the right side for Non-Recliners

3. Mock my diction if you want; at least I didn't call anyone "stupid" or "dumb" or "worthless" or insist that I must be in the majority because I'm so enraged about my side of the issue.
Do you genuinely believe passengers would accept the slightest discomfort or inconvenience just because you find it "super awkward" to hand your child a sippy-cup when the seat in front is reclined? |

No one to my recollection called you "stupid." I did call your idea stupid but smart people sometimes come up with stupid ideas. Perhaps you are one of them.

The reality is that reclined seats get jostled/bumped if someone needs to access their bags. Should I care about the "slightest discomfort" or awkwardness to the bump-ee when I'm getting out my stuff? I actually kind of do care, and I was looking for a solution. Because it's not like I'm going to refrain from accessing my own property for myself or my children for hours. Regarding 50% of the plane - as a starting point I asked side-vs-side or front-vs-back but that doesn't mean that it would be a 50%/50% solution as a long-term permanent plan; the number of rows would have to be based on some kind of market research. I'm not yet convinced that Recliners are the majority - where's that other poster with his/her data from the survey? And re Non-Recliners "sneezing on" or otherwise harassing Recliners - I'm not such a person myself, but don't you think that the volatility of this issue and the positively bellicose attitudes on both sides from representatives - mandate some kind of solution? (More of a solution than everyone telling the other people, "you're wrong; buy different seats; go away; I hate you" |
This thread is still happening? LOL

Spirit doesn't do it for your comfort, they do it because it is cheaper and they can cram more seats in their planes. Same with the lack of window shades.. Get real.... |

Your plan however demands that half the passengers be inconvenienced on your behalf not just for a few moments but for the entire flight, in perpetuity, on all aircraft. |
