Delay Compensation

The second leg is Turkey to Israel, not into the EU, so I think OP is out of luck.

Doesn't Israel have it's own compensation laws? Could they help the OP or are they only for flights that originate in Israel?

Which is part of the reason why the FT obsession with EC 261/2004, is misplaced. Not the only statutory compensation scheme and many carriers take care of people as a matter of customer service.

Aside from all the explanations about it being outside the eu, if you are warned in advance different rules apply anyway. Delay compensation is when there is a delay with no notice.

That's usually much more than the three days the OP was given. Usually 15 days I believe.
