What do you think are the most beautiful and the most ugliest aircrafts of the modern (last 50 years) era?
For the ugliest I have not made up my mind yet, too many candidates. For the most beautiful I'd nominate Blackbird. |
I agree with the SR-71. For commercial aircraft, I really liked the Douglas DC-10. For ugliest, it is a tie between the Airbus 380 and the Boeing 377, IMHO.

It doesn't quite fit in your 50 year limit but the Lockheed Constellation was one real beauty.

For ugliest commercial aircraft of the last 50 years: I think it's a tie between the BAe 146 and Shorts 330.

most beautiful would be IMHO the Connie. Concord was a graceful lady as well. |
Beech Starship gets my vote as one of the most beautiful.

I have to nominate the Supermarine Spitfire for most beautiful, strictly speaking retired 53 years ago but I'm going to leave it here. Failing that, Concorde for sure gets my vote.

Agree with blue green travel. Most stunning 747. It stops me in my tracks each time. Hands-down A380 ugliest. What were they thinking?

I helped make the alloys used in the A380 wings so is the most beautiful to me:).

Almost on the line of 50 years, but I love the AC-130. That thing is like the Goliath, if he could fly. As of commercial airplanes, I think most McDonnell Douglas aircrafts are pretty hideous.
