Are Gate Agents Comped for On-Time Performance?

I have heard that airline gate agent's are partially compensated based on their departure on-time stats. Is this fairly common throughout the industry?

What has happened from time-to-time is that airlines have offered employees cash rewards when the airline, as a whole, met certain on-time goals.

See, e.g., http://newsroom.unitedcontinentalhol...s-with-Bonuses

I have been doing this job for 17+ years. No Gold watch, no bonus what's so ever, but what I hope is 1 million happy passengers...
