Which airline to BKK?

Flying in October from NYC->BKK. Job will let me go biz if the bill is below a certain threshold and i'm trying to figure out which is the best option. This is my first real long-haul work trip.

I can take:
Finnair
Air China
Eva Air
Asiana
Air India
Turkish
China Eastern

I'm leaning towards Asiana or Turkish. Finnair is by far the cheapest but involves a 20 hour layover on the way home.

Any suggestions? Can I earn Delta miles on any of these?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry: BlackBerry8530/5.0.0.1030 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/417)

Are those your only choices because all the others are too expensive? CX via HKG would be very good.

If the CX sale is still valid for your flight dates it is around $3800 round-trip, which is a bargain for CX. Looks like you are only looking at *A airlines though.

You can earn Delta miles on China Eastern, however this is also one of the worst options of the ones you list.

I just ran a search in our corporate travel tool. Open to all airlines with an edge to any one I can accrue Delta miles on (really enjoy CX but its $7900 for the days i'm looking for)

For CX you need to book it on their site for the sale price (I think... I know for their deep discount fares to the US it has to be done this way).

Are you required to book through your corporate tool?

I'd shoot for TG or CX for sure

For what it's worth, Eva Air has lie-flat seats (same as UA GF seats) on some (most?) of their aircraft. If getting a good night's rest is high on your priority list, you might look into that option.

I've flown TG F HND-BKK and BKK-HND and it was phenomenal; Can't speak to the J product, but if you can manage to get F for under your threshold, it'd be worth it (the TG F lounge and included one-hour Thai massage in BKK is worth it alone).

I've flown UA GF SFO-NRT and NRT-SFO and actually enjoyed it, especially the hard product. Sure, the food and drink weren't as amazing as TG F, but the seats and cabin configuration on the 747 was solid. That said, I would recommend against flying UA J because the seat config is 2-4-2, which makes getting out of your seat tough due to the lie-flat seats.

It's worth noting that all of the above options will earn you 0 miles on DL, so if that's your primary objective I'd focus on only the carriers that will earn you those miles.

Good luck!

Or EK via DXB, on an A380 all the way.

Why don't you just take Delta?

I would also favour TG, or LX via Zurich.
